Sue, Just wanted to give you an update on LuLu (Candy). She is doing great!! We all love her and can't imagine life without her! Last time we went to vet she was 18 lbs. Anyway - thank you for our new member!! She is the sweetest and so good with the children. Regards,Lynn Lewis

Hi Sue, I cannot tell you how beautiful LuLu is, she is doing very good and is enjoying playing with the kids. Lonnie has taken pictures, I need to get them off his camera and send these to you. Additionally, I have had LuLu at the Vet. She is in good health, we return to the Vet Sunday for the next visit and follow up. The entire family loves her. She is sleeping well and enjoying herself and her new friends in the neighborhood. Thanks you so much. We were so lucky to find you and her. Diana Henegar

Sue, Just thought I would share some new pictures of LuLu with you. I think I told you that she graduated puppy training and is now in her second class ---- she is doing extremely well and our goal is to have her receive her certificate so not only will she bring great joy to our family but also others. Emily is volunteering at the Assisted living center in town and would love to be able to bring Lulu with her sometimes to brighten up the day of some of her "elderly" friends. Lulu has been a GREAT GREAT addition to our family! 2-15-09

Hi Sue, Here are some pictures of Nema's first couple weeks in Washington, DC. We love having her and she definitely keeps us busy! She's doing well with potty training and already knows how to sit. She loves ice cubes and sitting on the glass shelf of our coffee table (as you can see from the pictures:)). She is growing so fast and looks bigger/older than when we picked her up at the airport. We'll keep you updated on her progress! Rachel & Justin

Hi Sue! I am so sorry it has taken so long to send an update on Murphy (formerly, Buddy), but he is doing great!!! Attached are some pictures of him with long and short hair (he got his summer cut around one month ago). He plays with his brother Oliver all of the time, and the boys just met one of their siblings from a recent litter, Nema. Attached is a photo of them meeting on the street here in Washington, DC. Murphy steels the heart of everyone he meets. My sister, Katie, has fallen so in love with him that she may get a pup from your upcoming litter this July. I will be sure to be in touch if she decides to get a doodle of her own. Thank you again so much...you breed wonderful, loving dogs! Best, Eric

Hi Sue- Here are some new pictures of Nema. She is 17 weeks old and busy learning how to sit, stay, come, leave it, and heel walk! She is so cute and friendly that we can't walk down the street without people stopping us to pet her. Take care, Rachel & Justin 7-21-09

Hey Sue! How are you doing? I have been wanting to send you an email to give you an update. I have been thinking about you, as Brinkley has been growing up fast! He is doing well...probably close to 14 or 15 lbs, and he is just the cutest dog on the block (and in the office!). I call him my little "Brinkley Bear", because he looks like a teddy bear. My employers want Brinkley to be our little office dog, so he has come to visit a few times, and as soon as he is fully potty trained and out of this puppy chewing phase, he can come with me to work full time. The owners and "higher ups" love him! He is just so smart it is just unreal... he totally knows me and he knows our routine. He is being crate trained and doing well with that, I think he likes his crate. He has never messed in his crate, but outside of it, we are still working on not pottying in the house. Back in early January, we had our pictures made by a professional photographer friend of mine. Brinkley looks so good, I think he could be in dog books! If you would like to see the pictures you can go to: http://geodun.zenfolio.com/p689334396 and type in "Strachan" for the password. I was only able to purchase a few, but I think he is going to send me the digital copies so I can attach a file to share. I just love him so much! My mom and dad are so glad that I have Brinkley up here, and they see how much joy he brings to my life. So, thank you! He is just so much fun to watch and play with... He is really good at fetching, and he brings it back to where I have to reach out a foot or two to really play with him and get it back. He has been fetching for a while, and got the hang of it REALLY FAST... It showed me how smart he is. I am excited to teach him tricks... do you have any suggestions for fun tricks and ways to teach them? I wish he would catch toys in the air, because that pup can jump high! He is a really graceful jumper, haha. He knows to "come" and he knows "no", but we both have some trouble with the other commands. I think we will enroll in a puppy kindergarten class in the next month or two. I would really like to go through all of the training and take him to hospitals and nursing homes to be a therapy dog, but I will need to read up some more information on that. He has a fun and great temperament, but its hard to tell since he is still a puppy. He is really skiddish, a big scaredy-cat is what he can be sometimes. For instance, I have a stainless steel bowl set for his food and water and one time he got caught up in the holder for the bowls (I think), and he managed to drag it all across the kitchen floor. Food and water went EVERYWHERE, and he was so scared... tail between his legs. Since then, he has never eaten out of the stainless bowl, I had to go buy a plastic bowl. And for a while, he wouldn't hover over his food, but he would peer into it like he was just checking it out. I think he is getting better, but he can be scared easily by noise and other little funny things. I laugh a lot because of him! Once we were walking through the apartment, about to go outside, and he was in front of me, looking back at me as we were walking. He ran smack into a box of Christmas decor, and just shook it off and kept going. He is a bit clumsy (probably the puppy [and golden retriever] in him), but it was hilarious! I made me think that we were made for each other, because I tend to be a bit clumsy too. HAHA! Well, on March 30th he will be 5 months old, so, in April, we will be making an appointment to get him neutered. What steps do I need to take with you and let you know, once we have done that. Do you have any suggestions for what I need to do? Do I need to plan on him staying over-night or should I take off of work for any amount of time? Is it okay for him to stay in his crate during the days after his surgery? I just really want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart for helping me get Brinkley. He really is such a blessing to have and brings such joy to my life. And all indications from him, lead me to think he is having a good life with me too. :) I look forward to having him for a long time and I pray that the Lord will let me spend many years with him. Thank you for taking such good care of him and for breeding top quality dogs. Your compassion towards me and also getting to see your love for Brinkley as a new-born pup really reassured me that you do superb work and give all of your puppies a lot of love. Let's keep in touch! I hope you have a great day! Kelli (and Brinkley) Strachan P.S. I will forward along some pics I took with my phone.
